Jeanne A. (Lefebvre) Groleau, 88, of Essex Junction, VT, peacefully passed way into the comforting arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ, surrounded by the love of her family and friends on July 26, 2024.

Jeanne was born on May 17, 1936, in Barre, VT, the daughter of Henry and Marie (Bilodeau) Lefebvre. She was married in St. Sylvester Church in Randolph, VT, to Gerard “Joe” Groleau on August 5, 1961. They would have celebrated 63 years of marriage next week. Jeanne was a proud homemaker, she ran an in-home daycare while her children were school age, then worked in the South Burlington School System Dietary Department serving elementary and middle school age children until she retired.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gerard “Joe”, her children, Dan (Dawn) Groleau of Harrisburg, PA; Carmen (Rich) Gorby of Glen Burnie, MD; and Marcel Groleau of Middlebury, VT. Her beloved grandchildren, Troy, Emily and Nathan. Her sister, Dorthy Thurston, brothers Lawrence “Larry” (Shirley) Lefebvre, Bernard Lefebvre, and sisters in-law Phyllis Lefebvre and Nancy Lefebvre. Several sisters and brothers in-law on her husband’s side, along with several cousins, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister Connie Larkin, brothers Henry, Arthur and Wilfred “Pat” Lefebvre and several brothers and sisters-in laws.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 31st, at 11am at St. John Vianney Church in South Burlington, VT. A reception will be held afterward (location TBD). Burial at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery will take place on Monday, August 5th at 11 am. At the request of Jeanne, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to your favorite charity in memory of Jeanne.
