Frances Mary “Tottie” (Finnegan) Henry

Frances Mary “Tottie” (Finnegan) Henry, 88, of Burlington, passed away on July 20, 2024.

She was the first of seven children, born on October 22, 1935, to Charles and Margaret Finnegan of Burlington. On June 3, 1978, she married her hospital co-worker, Ralph Henry.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ralph Henry of Burlington; sister, Patricia “Trisha” Finnegan of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Charles “Bud” Finnegan of Colchester, VT; four stepchildren; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, John and Thomas; sister, Margaret; and an infant sister, Catherine Jane.

She graduated from the Jeanne Mance School of Nursing in 1956 and became a head nurse at Arnold 3, DeGoesbriand, and Patrick 5 at MCHV, now UVM Medical Center Rehab in 1993. She always worked proudly and advocated for her patients and colleagues. After retirement, she always kept in touch with her classmates, and remained active in and supportive to the DeGoesbriand and MCHV Association. She was a loyal Catholic and a devoted member of Christ the King Parish.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 28th from 2-4 p.m. at Ready Funeral Home, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Christ the King Parish on Monday, July 29th at 10 a.m. She will be buried in Resurrection Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to your favorite charity on behalf of Frances.
