I scream, you scream, we all scream for ... creemees, if you're in Vermont that is. In summer, visitors and locals alike will stand in long lines to get their hands on this sweet, creamy, dairy concoction.

A part of the joy of getting a creemee is that they almost always come from a local shop, often out of a window, that becomes a place to gather with friends and family on warm evenings.

Most creemee stands stick to just a few flavors, including vanilla, chocolate and maybe a berry, but the classic Vermont pick is the maple creemee. There's no need to choose just one because you can always get a twist of two flavors.

The traditional way is to get the creemee served up on a cone, but there's no shame in asking for a dish. The choice is yours. Just don't call it a soft serve.
